PI Advanced Materials Co., Ltd. (178920), the leading Korean polyimide (PI) manufacturer with the largest global market share and an Arkema (ISIN: FR0010313833) affiliate, announced today the publication of its 2025 Sustainability Report, providing stakeholders with a comprehensive overview of the company's ESG achievements and its mid- to long-term sustainability strategy.
Published for the fourth consecutive year, the report outlines PI Advanced Materials' key ESG performance, strategic priorities, and risk management framework across environmental, social, and governance (ESG) areas. In particular, the company conducted a Double Materiality Assessment to comprehensively evaluate both financial and non-financial impacts while further enhancing alignment with globally recognized ESG disclosure standards.
On the environmental front, PI Advanced Materials established a company-wide carbon neutrality roadmap, providing a structured framework for implementing its long-term decarbonization strategy. Based on this roadmap, the company is pursuing phased greenhouse gas reduction initiatives while expanding the number of products covered by Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) compared with the previous year, enabling more systematic management of environmental impacts across its major product portfolio. The company also plans to further broaden the application of LCA to better support customers' supply chain decarbonization efforts and growing demand for product environmental data.
In the social pillar, PI Advanced Materials continued to enhance its occupational health and safety management system by strengthening Process Safety Management (PSM), conducting regular safety training programs, and implementing emergency response drills to reinforce workplace safety capabilities. On the governance front, the company received an AA rating under Korea's Compliance Program (CP) for Authorized Economic Operators, awarded by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Resources (MoTIR), demonstrating its global-standard capabilities in export control compliance and corporate governance.
To further strengthen ESG governance, PI Advanced Materials established an ESG Committee under its Board of Directors in April 2026. The committee will review and advise on key environmental, social, and governance issues and risks at the board level while overseeing the execution of the company's mid- to long-term ESG strategy and major sustainability initiatives.
The company's ESG competitiveness has also been recognized both domestically and internationally. During the first half of 2026, PI Advanced Materials was named one of Korea's "ESG Best Company 100" by Sustinvest, a leading domestic ESG rating agency. The company also earned a Silver Medal from EcoVadis, one of the world's most trusted providers of business sustainability assessments.
A company spokesperson said, "Our 2025 Sustainability Report provides stakeholders with a more comprehensive and structured overview of our ESG achievements and long-term sustainability strategy. Going forward, we will continue strengthening our ESG competitiveness across all areas—including carbon neutrality initiatives and responsible supply chain management—to drive sustainable growth as a global advanced materials company."
