PI Advanced Materials Makes Debut at SEMICON Korea, Showcasing Zenimid™-Based Total PI Solutions for Semiconductors

2026.02.11

PI Advanced Materials Co., Ltd. (178920), the world’s leading polyimide (PI) materials manufacturer and an affiliate of global specialty chemicals group Arkema (ISIN: FR0010313833), today announced its first-ever participation in SEMICON Korea, the country’s largest semiconductor trade show, held from February 11 to 13. The event marks the company’s full-fledged entry into the semiconductor materials market.

At the exhibition, PI Advanced Materials is highlighting its new global brand Zenimid™, showcasing a comprehensive range of PI films, varnishes, and molded parts optimized for semiconductor processes and equipment. This expansion builds on the company’s existing leadership in mobile, display, and electric vehicle applications and signals a strategic broadening into front-end semiconductor sectors.

The company’s booth features live use cases of Zenimid™ PI films across a range of packaging and fabrication processes. Visitors can explore actual samples and performance data for back-film tapes for QFN packages, electromagnetic shielding carrier tapes, and synthetic graphite sheets already being deployed in production lines.

The Zenimid™ varnish series, engineered for high heat resistance, chemical durability, and dimensional stability, ensures enhanced process reliability in semiconductor manufacturing. These solutions serve a wide spectrum of components – from infrared sensor and humidity sensors to probe cards, power semiconductors, and even custom parts for foldable and wearable devices.

In addition, Zenimid™ molded PI materials, capable of withstanding temperatures exceeding 260°C, are gaining attention as critical enablers for localizing equipment parts in high-temperature environments such as chip testing systems and display/semiconductor processing equipment.

This year’s exhibit also includes a joint display with Arkema affiliates Piezotech and Kynar, highlighting fluorinated and functional polymer lines that, when combined with PI Advanced Materials’ proprietary technologies, deliver tailored total solutions for the demanding process environments of semiconductor customers. These synergies further differentiate the company in a competitive global market.

A PI Advanced Materials spokesperson stated, “Our debut at SEMICON Korea is a milestone that formally introduces our expanded semiconductor portfolio and technical strengths to the market. By integrating the advanced functionality of Zenimid™ with Arkema’s global materials platform, we aim to deliver differentiated, process-optimized total solutions to semiconductor customers worldwide.”
