PI Advanced Materials, a global leader in polyimide (PI) materials, announced today that it has officially joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). This milestone underscores the company’s commitment to sustainable management and corporate social responsibility, further solidifying its vision as a globally responsible organization.
The UNGC is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, uniting over 20,000 companies and organizations from 167 countries. Participants commit to aligning their operations and strategies with 10 universal principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption.
"Joining the UNGC reflects PI Advanced Materials’ dedication to addressing critical global challenges such as carbon neutrality and human rights," said Song Geum-Su, CEO of PI Advanced Materials. "As a global leader, we are committed to advancing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices in our corporate management to drive sustainable growth and create a positive impact on society."
Yoo Yeon-cheol, Secretary General of the UNGC Korea Association, welcomed the company’s decision, stating: "PI Advanced Materials’ participation marks an important step in integrating global norms into corporate management strategies. By aligning with the UNGC’s 10 principles, we hope the company will contribute meaningfully to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and strengthening their commitment to a sustainable future."
PI Advanced Materials has already been implementing management policies that prioritize carbon neutrality, climate change mitigation, and human rights. By joining the UNGC, the company plans to further integrate these priorities into its business operations and actively participate in global initiatives aimed at fostering a more sustainable and inclusive world.
